Model Release form

Evidence of Model giving permission
I got my model to fill out the form so that I would have permission to be able to legally take pictures of the model to put on the front cover of the magazine

Colour Scheme

I have decided to stick with my original colour scheme plan.
The main colours of my magazine will be green, red and white. The background of my front cover will have a green background due to the location where the picture for the front cover was taken. Using the colour green will also connote the environment of the festivals - green grass. The use of the colour red will connote the passion that my target audience have for festivals and music. The font colours on the front cover will be a variation of black, white and red. The double page background colour will be mainly red, with the font colour being white.

Fonts
The name of my magazine is Reveal. I used the font Bodoni 72 as it is bold and clear, meaning it will stand out and capture the readers attention. I also believe it fits in with the festival style of my magazine. In terms of my body copy I will just use Times New Roman as it is a typical font used by many magazines - this is something I discussed with the client.

Hand Drawn Sketches

These are images of my sketched layouts of what my front cover and double page spread of my magazine should like. These sketches are important as they'll help me to make my actual magazine as I'll have a an image already of what it should be looking like. It adheres to the codes and conventions of music magazines and magazines in general with their being a clear masthead, main image and cover lines. I will create a more detailed double page spread using digital software.

Production Schedule (Gantt chart)

I created this Gantt chart because I wanted to ensure that every task was completed on time.

Legal and Ethical Issues

Copyright: It is important not to copyright any images or fonts throughout my magazine so that we are not sued for illegally using someone else's material. To ensure this doesn't happen Reveal will be using its own original content (taking images and sourcing fonts) and using royalty free websites if other images are required.
Libel: It is important not to write anything untrue so that we are not sued for writing false articles. To ensure this doesn't happen, we will ensure that everything written is completely true and have it checked over by editors.
Discrimination: It is important to ensure that we do not discriminate so that we don't offend our audience. We will ensure we don't discriminate by not including anything offensive against any races or people. This will also be checked over by editors.
Inappropriate language: It is important we do not include any inappropriate language as this can make our magazine come across as unprofessional which can give us a bad reputation. To avoid this, we will make sure we use only inappropriate language by thoroughly checking through the magazine once it has been written.
Breaching confidentiality: It is important we don't breach confidentiality so that we don't get sued. We can avoid this by not revealing any disclosed information. We will also get model forms signed as appropriate.
Gaining permission forms: It is important that we gain permission forms so that we are legally allowed to use a location for example. Otherwise, without permission, we cant get sued and lose out on a lot of money. This will be completed by models and locations.
Racism:  It is important we do not include any racism in our magazine so that we don't offend our audience and don't get a bad reputation. We will ensure this doesn't happen by making sure nothing in the magazine is racist at all. This will also be checked over by editors.
Environmentally friendly: It is important to ensure that as this is a paper based magazine, it will be environmentally friendly. To ensure my magazine is ethical, Reveal will make sure that the magazine is made in an environmentally friendly way and that employees are payed and treated well and fairly.
