Evidence of me taking picture of model

Thumbnails

Here is evidence of a range of images I took for my front cover and double page spread.

Chosen images

This is the image I used for my front cover because the long shot has captured all of the model nicely, and I believe the pose and style of the model is very suitable for my front cover. The background lighting is also perfect and makes the model stand out more.

This is the image I used for my double page spread because the lighting in the background I believe would be perfect for the background in my magazine, and the pose and style of the artist is very suitable too. I also believe that the mid shot would capture the expression of my model nicely too.

Codes and Conventions

Codes are systems of signs, which create meaning. These may include both technical codes or symbolic codes. An example of a code that creates meaning is gold chains and baggy pants in a Hip-Hop music video.
One convention of a festival magazine is that they always have interviews in them, (usually in the double page spread), of singers and performers who have or will be performing in a festival. I have followed this through my article of my artist who explains about performing in a festival.
The mise-en-scene of my images also follows the codes and conventions of festivals. I have chosen a forest location and dressed my artist is bright, festival themed clothing with sunglasses. This will appeal to my target audience, is own original content and further links to the brief as it reflects a vibrant music scene developing locally in North London. The facial expression of my artist is captured through the use of camera shot, which I chose specifically.

Double Page Spread Article:

This is my article that I have written for my double page spread. I have created it digitally so that I can see if the formatting works. I have met the conventions of magazine double page spreads as it follows an interview format and has typical questions (from my research) that are asked.
