D1 (U21) Feedback From The Client

From presenting my magazine idea to the client, I received lots of feedback. Some was useful and will help me to develop my final production, however some wasn't useful. This report discusses all feedback received.

Another piece of feedback I got from the client was to make sure I am prepared for periods where there are no festivals so that I have something to put in the magazine. I will be taking this feedback into consideration as I believe it is useful due to the fact that the customers want to read something interesting to do with festivals in my magazine, and if they have no festivals to read about then they might not continue to buy my magazine. With this in mind, I need to ensure that I conduct research around North London and could explore behind the scenes information from festival promotors, artists or even managers prior to a festival taking place. This content could encourage/maintain readership.

The client also gave feedback to write about gigs as well as festivals. I will be taking this feedback into consideration as I believe it is useful because it will allow me to write about other things similar to festivals when there are no festivals happening, meaning the reader of the magazine will still be interested to read it. I could promote gigs around North London and some of those artists might even perform in festivals, in turn this will allow me to write more double page spreads.

One piece of feedback from the client was to make it clear what time of the year these festivals are. I have decided that I won't be taking this feedback into consideration as I don't believe its useful due to the fact that my magazine doesn't just focus on festivals happening at one point in the year, it's about festivals happening throughout the year, even if most festivals do happen in the summer time. Therefore I don't believe its necessary for me to state what time of the year the festivals in the magazine are, as there is not a specific time of year.

In addition, the client gave feedback to make sure to use different fonts and also change the main font to something different then Bodoni 72. I think this feedback is slightly useful because I do believe it is important to use different fonts throughout out to make the magazine more adventurous and less boring however I will still use the Bodoni 72 font as I believe this font reflects my magazine well. In order to develop this further, I have found other fonts to use such as Monaco which reflects the upcoming music scene.

The client feedback proved to be extremely useful and from his four points, I have differentiated what  was useful and therefore help me to develop my production from that which was not useful.
